92 T/A, Is it one of 190?

I recently purchased a 92 T/A, 350 tuned port engine, 700R4, heres the vin# 1G2FW2382NL215315, heres some rpo codes off the sticker in the trunk, B2L, FE2, GU5, G80, KC4, K68, L98, MD8, N10, PW7, WS4, WS6, Y83, 52P. Is this car worth keepin around or should i find a GTA?

What are you looking to do with it? If you're looking for investment options, sell the car and invest in gold, not cars! If you like the TA, keep it. I don't understand your question of getting rid of a 350 TA just to get a GTA. What's your reasoning?

no, he HAS a gta, there was no 350 available on anything other than a GTA and a formy right? his 8th vin digit is an 8. So unless its a formy, its defiantly not a TA

this new learning amazes me, Sir Bedemir...

I always "knew" you could not get a TA with a 350, just a 305. hmm, learned my thing for the day.

I read in 92 there were only 190 t/a's that came with the 350, thats the only reason i bought the car, i'm always lookin for something no one else has got, not lookin too make money on it just lookin for the oddball out there.

Its arctic white with light beige interior, clearcoat is peeling in spots, new paint will make it look brand new, headliners startin to sag and gas gauge doesn't work, has 152,000 miles, engine bay is spotless, as is the underside of the car.

Re: 92 T/A, Is it one of 190?

I would definitely keep it...GTA or TA, its worth it. I've never understood why people get hung up on GTAs vs. TAs. My 88 TA has EVERYTHING a GTA came with except for the fancier seats. Personally, for me I'm still not 100% sure the GTA seats were worth it...they're kinda hard. The adjustability is cool, but the cushioning leaves something to be desired, I think...

Without a doubt, the GTA is seen as the top of the food chain...and in many ways it is. More GTAs have "the good stuff" than TAs, obviously. However, a loaded up TA like yours (or mine) doesn't really give up anything to a GTA...

Good find -- L98's are not at all common in T/A's. I'd hold on to it for sure, GTA or not. IMO, biggest reason to get a GTA over a T/A is the standard Ultima seats (optional on T/A's, but near impossible to find). Of course, you can always do what I did and just buy a set of used Ultima seats to put in it.

Sounds like a customer order car. Their should be a RPO to designate that. Hold onto it for a while. That one will bring the money after the low mile originals Once the third gens take off. It may be a while but they will have their day.

Re: 92 T/A, Is it one of 190?

actually there pretty common to have a L98 in just the TA. the later third gen years at least. I believe 89 and up were pretty common L98s for TA's. I know that 88 TA's were available with the L98 but ive never come across one ever other than just a GTA equiped with the 350 in 88.

Re: 92 T/A, Is it one of 190?

you could get a 350 in a formula as well in 92, and all other years
also in 92 all formulas, trans ams, and gta's had to be customer ordered, since they knew it was the last year they didnt want to have too many of them left
dealers could order base firebirds to have on stock for the lot
