Loaded factory 1990 1LE?

This ebay auction is for an alleged '90 1LE.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1990-...item4602d9cdb4

I don't know. Looks like a Group 2 car to me, with body side moldings, power windows and door locks, et al. It even has the fog lights, which I didn't think 1LE cars had. And that A/C unit looks factory.

I know the 1991-92 1LEs could have more individual options but didn't know the 1990's could. It's a shame he doesn't show the option decal in the console. Thoughts?

Not a 1LE... Pics of the RPO codes will convince me otherwise. I get tired of people throwing out RPOs and talking rarity and then holding back on the one picture of the RPO codes that would answer all the questions at once.

That AC look factory. There was a car in the for sale section a few months back that was a 1LE with dealership installed factory AC, so it's a very slim possibility. Who knows, though... the seller does go on about how G92 with AC delete triggers 1LE etc. The compressor looks very clean for a 73k mile car.

That's a pretty nice car, though. It's an LB9/T5 away from me placing a bid on it. Seriously. I love it. Hardtop 1990 IROC-Z with miles (so you don't feel as guilty driving it). However, based on pictures, it's in condition equal to or better than some of the sub 20k mile cars I've seen out there!

Undoubtedly the condition is very nice. But calling it a 1LE if it isn't is wrong. The AC I'd look past because a lot of 1LE owners for whatever reason install it. But the presence of the other options, especially the fog lights, makes me even more suspect. A G92 1990 IROC is pretty rare in and of itself. No need to exaggerate.

Its not a 1LE, it has normal single piston 10.5" iron front brakes.
It is a very clean 350 car tho.

I also see the iron single piston calipers on the front. Not a 1LE car.

So the guy added a link to a "window sticker" that shows no indication of 1LE. I feel sorry for the people that are bidding on this car. I hope it does not reach reserve.

I contacted him telling him the car is not a 1LE. Let's see what he says.

Re: Loaded factory 1990 1LE?

Looks like the listing ended, item no longer available. Hopefully, whoever bought it didn't do so under the premise that it was one of 28 cars built without verifying it. Again, looked like a nice car, but to say that if it isn't true (and who knows, maybe Chevy did build a rare 1LE without the special brakes and with the fog lights, A/C, and all other options, hehe) is just plain wrong. A 1LE will command a pretty substantial premium over a regular G92 car, as we know.

No...He ended the listing, nobody bought it. It was only at 5500 when I last saw it and I know that was no where near his reserve. I also contacted him and asked for an RPO sticker. He said numerous people contacted him and all he provided was a window sticker with no 1LE.

I think he realizes that its not a 1LE and just ended the listing.

Very interesting. Maybe he wasn't knowledgable and got taken to school by the previous owner and really didn't know. Or maybe he didn't count on the number of people who know what these cars are and decided not to chance it. I don't know but seems like a pretty blatant and easy to discover rouse. One quick look at the service decal in the console would uncover it. Thus, I suspect the former is closest to truth.
