I tried getting a hold of the seller for VIN, etc., but haven't got through yet

In the meantime, are these pictures enough to know the factory trans/engine combination?

Ignore the listing price (>15,000USD), everything except water is sky-high here

You can be pretty sure that it is in fact a 5.0 liter engine. Over in Europe they get taxed by the size of the engine, so most of our cars had the smallest engine available in there.

You can find the VIN by searching on the reg number at the DMV

Merke og modell: PONTIAC FIREBIRD
Registreringsnummer: KZ 37262
Understellsnummer: 1G2FW87FXGL209***

Looks like some of the numbers might have been registered wrong, but the engine code is a
F = 305 LB9
