Better check your source Sir.
According to the White Book:

RPO L69....305ci, 190hp V8 (Z28 only) = 74 built Retail = $695.00

Check the 8th digit of your vin#, with the original engine it would be one of these. If it is a G it is an (L69). If it is a H it is a (LG4). If it is a F it is a (LB9). If it is a S it is a (LB8).

Yes, I re-read the title of the post and again I say according to The White Book:

1986 Options........................................

RPO 1FP87 Camaro Sport Coupe, 4-cylinder. 99608 built.
RPO 1FS87 Camaro Berlinetta Coupe, 6-cylinder. 4479 built.
RPO 1FP87 Camaro Z28 Sport Coupe, 8-cylinder. 88132 built.

Is the Z28 NOT a Sport Coupe?

Correct me if I'am wrong please.

You are indeed wrong. Sport Coupe is the base model. No ground effects from 82-87. Discontinued after the 88 model year. "Check your facts sir".

Not sure where those numbers came from, but there were not 100,000 4 cylinder cars built. Try this link:

Not in the Sport Coupe, but the Firebird SE did have an option for the L69 - not sure if that was in 1986 though,,,

Could you provide the source for that information? All the GM literature I have seen lists the L69 engine as exclusive to the Pontiac Trans Am or Camaro Z28 and IROC-Z.

My numbers are from the Camaro White Book written by Mike Antonick and published by Motorbooks International and co-published by Michael Bruce Associates, Inc.

It has been published for over 25 years in various editions and is very well respected in the Camaro World by enthusiast, collectors and owners. Contributing their expertise are Ed Cunneen, Carl Dwiggins, Bob Eckles and Scott Settlemire among others.

Yes, there can by typos and mistakes in any publication. But, the current edtion of the White Book I use as reference is hardly to be sneezed at.

Re: l69 sport coupe

BTW, much of the info in the White Book is from General Motors themselves.
