Re: KITT replica
I saw a KITT replica at a local show recently. I have to admit, it was kind of nostalgic to see it in person. The replica interior wasn't completely accurate, but it was interesting to see it up close since I grew up watching Knight Rider. I give them credit for pulling it off.

Looks like he did a good job for the most part. Yeah Kight Rider and Simon and Simon started my 3rd gen love back when I was a kid.

I'm glad they used a V6 as opposed to cutting up an 82-84 Trans Am.
Re: KITT replica
This is by far the best K.I.T.T. replica I've seen. The electronics are actually controlled with a computer. Everything is in Italian, but you can definitely see how accurate and how superb the fit and finish is.

Re: KITT replica
What's really kind of interesting is that a lot of the technology that was in K.I.T.T. in some form, could be instituted today. Including flame throwers, microwave jammers, off road (air bag) suspension, etc... Good ol Moore's law (sorta) at work.

Re: KITT replica
Lotta love for KITT here. Any haters besides me? Knight Rider was a terrible show. Even as a kid, I thought it was cheesy. When I got my black GTA, I Netflixed some episodes because I thought it might be kind of kitschy and nostalgic. It wasn't. My son watched with me, and after the 3rd episode, he turned to me and said, "So, Smokey and the Bandit made Trans Am's cool, and then Knight Rider made them lame?"
I think the worst thing about the show was the sound effects. They replaced the V8 rumble with that wimpy turbine whine.

Re: KITT replica
The sad thing is, there's really no "cutting up" involved if you do it right. I should know, I've pulled it off. Everything on my car bolts and screws to factory locations and comes right back off, which may happen one day.

Can't think of the website now, but the technology in some of those cars is really cool. they have voice recognition, it will perform commands by voice, or from you iphone.
