Re: help

Well, that's a good news/bad news kinda thing....

Keep reading. Ask questions. Don't worry if people laugh at you, it happens to all of us at one time or another in our life. (for some of us it never stops, but we get used to it)

Re: help

Being it's a 91 you had two model options, the RS or the Z28. If it has a flat hood, 15" wheels, and the 3 piece spoiler chances are it's a RS. You can tell for sure by checking the "SPID" sticker. The SPID sticker is a list of 3 digit "RPO" codes. Being you have a 91 it is either in the center console or in the little locking compartment in the rear. If it isn't in either of those places you can try entering the VIN over to compnine.com. If you don't have the RPO Z28 then it's a RS.

If it has a V-8 TBI (Throttle Body Injection, looks like a carb basically) motor, then it is most likely a 305. You can tell for sure what the car came with by the 8th digit of the VIN. E is 305 TBI. T is the V-6.

Re: help

Also peek at your rear axle. If it has drum brake, it is an RS, compared to disc brake for a Z28 and very, very, few RS cars.

Lots and lots and lots and... I could go on and on, Z28s have drum rear brakes. If it has drums it means nothing.
