Ebrake Cable Driver's Side '89

I know this is a terrible nuance, BUT I am very particular about originality. The cable has a zip tie holding it in place, that is obviously not original equipment. The "S" clip appears loose so I can see why someone found the need to put a zip tie on there, but I am wondering how this particular was as original? Thanks in advance.
