Options for 1982
Options for 1982
Was surfing the net looking at images of 1982 z28 Camaro's for inspiration on my resto project, anyway came across this Barrett Jackson auction, I never expected to see an error in a BJ auction, read the last bit at the bottom,
"Loaded with all the options offered in 1982."
Right off the bat I can see two major options not on this car, power windows and the L/S Conteur drivers seat, also no power seat, anyway just throwing it out to see if anyone else ever noticed obvious errors like this in their auction before, kinda though they were the "Holy Grail" of car history.

Here's an option list from 1982;

Still an absolutely beautiful looking car, and worth every penny it sold for IMO.

Re: Options for 1982
Barrett-Jackson advertises a vehicle as stated by the owner. They don't verify all details. I have seen so many wrong descriptions in ALL auction formats. The buyer needs to know what they are buying or they will get screwed.
Re: Options for 1982
It is true they take the owners word for it. But the process leading up to the auction you have to sign a thing that says your statements are true, then various stages of approval of text for accuracy leading up to the auction. So the seller has many opportunities to fix mistakes before the catalogs are printed, online texts are published, and the car hits the block.
Re: Options for 1982
Hmm that kind of leaves them open for a lot of trouble reputation wise, always figures they scrutinized the info they posted to protect their reputation as a premier auto auction company, HMMMM that is truly disappointing, but not really that surprised. I am sure that the owner knew his statement wasn't accurate.

Aww missed that, forgot the 82/83 models had the flatter front and simulated stitching, that's an 84 or newer dashpad, hahaha, nice catch.
Here's a thread on the dash pad differences for those interested.

Isn't it also true the BJ auction is a no reserve auction? Scary way to sell a car in my opinion.
