Re: CCC AND NON CCC

My guess is the only non-CCC cars were export cars.

Re: CCC AND NON CCC

Yup; not really a "guess", or maybe, just a good one; it was not legal to sell a non-CC one in the US due to emissions regulations.

Re: CCC AND NON CCC

It's a little weird that they don't list the 2.5 as available with CCC

Re: CCC AND NON CCC

This is from a Canadian brochure. Computer control was a $400 option. '81-up US-spec cars had standard computer control due to emission regulations. Export cars could be had with non-computer control until '88 when the last of the carbureted engines were fitted with TBI. The export High Output versions of the 2.8L V6(LL1) and 5.0L V8(L69) engines always had computer control because they had high compression and their HP rating and performance was designed with the use of the CCC system.

The 2.5 Iron Duke(and Cross-Fire 5.0 for that matter) were EFI and not technically CCC. CCC was generally referred to carbureted engines.

Anybody notice the typo for the HO engine? Its listed as RPO LG9 instead of L69. Whoever typed up the brochure that day wasn't wearing their reading glasses!

Re: CCC AND NON CCC

I did notice that. No doubt an error of sloppy handwriting when the text was entered off of someone else's notes and wasn't proof read. Somebody thought the handwritten "6" was a "G". We never see these types of errors anymore.
