Great car. I wish these cars had a better build quality though. Seat is all wrinkled in the bottom corners. Typical of that seat style and that one only has 50 miles on it. I love these cars because they are from my youth, but they really do not seem to age very well.

That's one high level third gen. The buyer shelled out for a nice one.

I think they are built just as well as everything else from that era. If just the seat and a few other things seem questionable it's no different then cars still being produced today either. Hear of much recalls on third gens? How about today's vehicles from all brands?

Lol, anyone else see the JY and think "junk yard" instead of Jamaica Yellow?

Nice car though!

Yes. Clearly it wasn't junk yard after looking at the pics. But I still wasn't sure what JY was....until now.

Re: JY Formula 1LE at Barrett Jackson

It was my dad who sold it. I had the exact same car but in green. I kept it for a few years and never drove it and eventually traded it in for a Vette. Wish now I had kept it! Kid who ended up buying it totaled it not long after I heard.

Did it have any options? Like power windows/locks, radio, etc.?

While the Cobalt ignition recall is a big deal, there are lots more recalls today due to the car companies' increased fears over liability after the Prius debacle. Thigns that would have just been TSBs in the past ares now reason for recall.
