new to this forum!

Im really exited to be here looks like an awesome wealth of knowledge on here. Im not new to f bodys ive had an 84 z ho 5.0 5 speed, 84 t/a 5.0 ho auto, 88 formula 305, 89 r.s. now i have a 86 z28 with the boat anchor lb4 or whatever lol. Its a really clean original car with 139 on the odom. One respray not too bad of a job done on it its showing its age though some cracks and one rust spot on the quarter. Head gasket was blown when i got it 800 i paid not too bad. Its a bare bones car kinda boring inside manual everything, ers stereo with a/c. The interior looks like a v6 car interior the seats are lame. Is this normal? My other ones had way cooler seats or could you get base seats in a z? Ill try to get a pic or two up.

Welcome aboard! Nice find. I like those high-back buckets myself. Had them in my '91 RS.

Re: new to this forum!

Someone can always change the seats but if it was a stock barebones car without some of the high price goodies then chances are they got it with a standard interior instead of the "Deluxe interior" which would explain those base seats.

Re: new to this forum!

definitely a nice looking car, love the black and silver, interesting to see someone who actually isn't hyped up about manual everything, that car is almost perfection for someone looking for a drag car(they usually like the Sport Coupes lol)

Re: new to this forum!

I do think its cool as a performance gain (its lighter) but it just looks boring lol. Plus its hard to reach over from the drivers side to roll it down. But its cool, i definitely want to get some cooler seats. And the fact that the interior is black is cool too. It should be running soon, im leaving the short block alone, heads are getting a full port and polish, lapping the valves, new seals and new gaskets. Oh yeah edelbrock 1406 carb and shorty headers, its got a flowmaster two chamber dual outlet, but id like.to pus some three inch all the way out. Plus i scrapped all the emissions b.s. after all that 373 gears and a limited slip diff. I have a 350 on a stand im gonna build up for it but for now ill get it road worthy with the boat anchor lol.
