Build sheet

Hey guys,

Anywhere I can look up my build sheet? I can't find any places online. Pontiac dealers are now just dust, and the GM dealer around here is way more interested in selling me some brand new junk instead of any help really (offered to pay for the sheet). Thanks!

www.phs-online.com is your best option unless your car happens to be a Canadian export

Re: Build sheet

Keep in mind there is no way to get a copy of a buildsheet beyond the original in the car that may or may not be there. Only a copy of an invoice with list of major RPO codes is available, which is what the company AmorgetRS linked will provide.

Mine was under the driver's side rear carpet - at one time.

Re: Build sheet

Yeah I've done some further browsing and I'm pretty sure its gone forever. Looked everywhere in the car. Unfortunate but it happens. And I got an Ohio built bird, so one day when the car looks more respectable I'll buy the invoice and all that good info from phs

Reason I wanted it was to confirm I had a ws6.

Look at the Door Jamb stickers, look for tire sizes and pressures. If you have 16" Rims you have WS6 from 1985-1987 for sure...

IIRC GM Heritage Center used to do it for free. That was only for Chevys though. PHS has always been a pay for service as far as I know.

Re: Build sheet

They did Pontiacs, too. I had one done back in the day for my Trans Am. There was a women on here that did them for free at one time. Like 10 years or so ago. It was just the invoice, which is the important part.

Re: Build sheet

Performance Suspension tag on the passenger side dash would be a hint too.

Re: Build sheet

That badge was also included on Trans Ams without WS6. Meaning, that badge does not conclusively mean WS6.

A few old discussions:

Also, one of my Trans Ams does not have the WS6 but does have the badge.

Re: Build sheet

Thanks for the correction - I had always been under the impression it was related to the WS6 package.

Re: Build sheet

I've come to the conclusion that, some got them and some didn't.but it should be noted that for 86 ALL Firebirds came with Modified front MacPherson struts and Rally Tuned Suspension,(I'm taking that as it was a option for previous years)but the Gas Filled Shocks was for the WS6 Package only.

Same here. I assumed the tag meant WS6.

Re: Build sheet

There were 3 suspensions available for any given year.
Going off memory here

- FE1 The Base Camaro or Base Firebird suspension for any given year.
- F41, which is the optional suspension for Camaro SC's, RS, etc. not really sure if the Base Firebird was ever given this option... This was the BASE Suspension for the Z28, and the Trans Am. This would have garnered the "Performance suspension" emblem on the dash of the Firebird line.
- FE2 / WS6 - This was the BASE Suspension on the GTA & Formula & IROC, it was also the optional suspension on the Trans Am and Z28... (again you would get the "performance suspension" badge on the dash.)

I am not sure if the 91-92 Z28 got the FE2 as the base suspension or not.
