History / OriginalityGot a question about 1982-1992 Camaro or Firebird history? Have a question about original parts, options, RPO codes, when something was available, or how to document your car? Those questions, answers, and much more!
Earlier I did a Midwest survey but needed more data to get enough samples for more realistic results. As before, number differences are due to what was in the add. Can't rate road worthiness if all that's listed is Firebird and price or not even a price.
Kansas City, Des Moines, Denver, St. Louis, Minneapolis, Chicago, Dallas and OK City are now joined by Phoenix, Los Vegas, LA, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, Indianapolis, Detroit, Cincinnati, Buffalo, Philadelphia, Boston, Charlotte NC, Atlanta, Tampa and Miami.
I broke down down that road worthiness this way.
Above Average-This is for running cars with no major drivetrain issues. They could have a few small problems but nothing major and could be enjoyed as is.
Average - Again Running Cars that need something significant or just a lot of little things that take time, effort and or some money to solve. Tires, Exhaust and similar things. May have more significant body issues as well. Can still be driven now, but it looks and drives like a project.
Poor - Non Running cars! These cars need lots of TLC to be driven on the road. Major body damage gets you here. Basically the barnyard cars and or projects given up on.
In all 434 total Firebirds made the Survey. They broke down like this.

Next I will break down the rest of the information
The information was gathered within 3 days at the beginning of Oct. It took me a while to put it all together and just finished. I only used Craigs List for the samples. Nicer cars will be sold on other sites like Auto Trader, Ebay so high price info may be lower than cars from this site. The first prices listed are for average prices of each category and the last being the highest price found (H). Numbers in parenthesis after the price is the number of samples used. All prices are rounded up.
This is designed to give you an idea of what is out there and about what you would pay if you were looking this fall.
