Re: yellow 1986 5 speed iroc on ebay

That's an awesome car! Love the fact that it's a yellow hardtop and has no AC too...

Is it a real 1986 HO L69 car? If so that's probably the first one I have seen.

I wonder what the deal is with the autocheck history? He makes no mention of it and seems to have owned it when the salvage would have occurred...

Re: yellow 1986 5 speed iroc on ebay

Damn that had me fooled for a minute! 8th digit of the vin is H (LG4) not G. It very well might be a genuine L69 in there now, but didnt originally come with it.

Ive yet to see a photo of a real 86 L69.

he claims its one of the 74 l69 cars but isnt the 8th of the vin supposed to be a "g" ?

looks like he is doing a little false advertising if the 8th is supposed to be a "g"

shouldn't it say 5.0 Litre HO under the Z28 rocker badges, under the dash plaque and on the rear bumper?

Re: yellow 1986 5 speed iroc on ebay

It's a Canadian car. So aside from the fact the VIN digit indicates LG4, Compnine has the record on this car and also shows LG4.

It also should have the 3.23 gears. Ad states 3.73

if it was real it would have those items if they put them back on after the repaint ... as far as dash plaque i think my l69 iroc had the same dash plaque as all the other irocs ..

Yellow. Hardtop. Stick.

I don't even care if it's an LG4.

We think too much alike. I'd dress the ZZ5 up like an L69 and add the 5.0 Litre H.O. badges. Would be a lot of fun then!

Didn't need to see the SPID sticker. The VIN doesn't lie nor does the fact it's a Canadian car so all that information is available online. Canadian cars are better documented.

LOL, I'm reading this thread and realizing we are all bunch of rare car snobs, myself included. What a great car and most guys would give up a tooth to have one this nice!

Cool, clean C41 A/C Delete hardtop with stick - nice combo!!! Love the dash with the block-off plates!

Re: yellow 1986 5 speed iroc on ebay

Although he sent the RPO sticker, Im sure he will stick to his rare L69 story. It could be that the story he is telling was told to him. Ill give him the benefit of the doubt for now...

Speaking of 86 L69's, does anybody have picture proof of one that wasnt used for racing? (Pics + SPID + VIN plate through the windshield?) I keep seeing the 74 number being thrown around yet I have never seen a real photo of one. Im starting to think this is a legend just like the "50 1986 350's" story.

Yup, exactly!

I would even dig just cruising this thing around as is. Those air cleaner parts were available over the counter for many years

Ha! I was just thinking the same thing lol!!

I emailed him about the salvage info and am confused by his response. Even tough it appears that it was on some sort of non-op for a while and that's why the issue came up in the report, I couldn't buy something with a salvage branding knowing how difficult it would make it to sell the car later on. I still love the fact that it's a yellow hardtop stick No AC car, that's on the top of my list for what i'd love to buy! Wish he had been more honest about the LG4 motor though...

That guy was a crook trying to sell something that was a fake! Its no longer there because people who knew what they were talking about called him on his BS! No LG4 cars ever came from the factory with an L69 Air cleaner! I do wonder what the story is behind it though. Its in beautiful shape. All except the engine compartment looks dirty. Yellow Camaros are great!

Was just posted to Kijiji and no mention of L69 or trying to word it as something it isn't. I emailed for the RPO codes as well before I saw this post thinking it could be a 1985 or a Players car.
