What is everybody doing to preserve their window sticker? For my window sticker, the previous owner folded it so it fit inside a sheet protector, and that's how it sits today.

I have seen people do the following:

1. Laminate it like a giant card
2. Store it in a sheet protector (folded or unfolded)
3. Framed displays at car shows

What is best for preservation, and what has the least impact on the value of the document? I like the idea of doing a professional lamination, but I'm not sure what that would do to the value of the document. Keeping it in a sheet protector is nice, but I can't really display it and it's just reinforcing the crease in the paper.

 

I laminated mine. Keeps the air from discoloring it.

 

I would think Lamination... But then you can never remove it (not sure why you would want to) Wish I had mine, I have my build sheet, but that is it.

 

The one I have from my 87 is still sitting in the brochure I ordered it from.

The others of mine that have them are either framed, loose or laminated - just the way I got them.

 

I found an interesting idea on another forum. The owner goes to a print shop and gets a high quality color photocopy of the window sticker that is then laminated. The original is stored in a dark, safe area at home. This allows displaying the sticker while retaining the original.

 

My 88 GTA has both the original sticker (torn across the bottom) and the PHS repro piece. Both are laminated.

 

Wish I had an original to laminate..

 

That's what I do. Got a reproduction from PHS years ago and I keep my original stored. Don't keep it folded though, the lettering after a few years will start getting sticky.
