It was and LG4, 4 speed, Z28, used by Dick Gulstrand in a Hot Rod Magazine shootout.

Re: FIRST THIRD GEN CAMARO

I didn't read every page. Did the article say it was the first thirdgen? Or is that known from another source? Just curious.

How thirdgen appropriate that the first car was modified nearly immediately from new.

Re: FIRST THIRD GEN CAMARO

I recall an article somewhere about that first 3rd gen-mentioned it was last seen ~1988,in partly dismantled condition in the backyard of a shop in the southwest..Did not have a proper VIN or something,so could not be used on public roads...Oldest one I have seen "in the wild"was a November 1981 build fully loaded z28-dark blue in color.Found at the junkyard in 1993,it had pretty heavy damage underneath from running over a guardrail or something.Recognizing it as a very early example, recorded the VIN and radiator support tag #s-misplaced that info, but if I find it again will post it up.
