I saw this on Bring A Trailer. It is located in Gilbert, Arizona and there are rust issues. This leads me to believe that perhaps the car isn't originally from the area. Aside from that, I have some questions as to originality. The photos of the engine bay show center bolt valve covers and an older style A/C compressor. Did first year Firebirds use the older style compressor rather than the R4? And those have got to be newer heads with the center bolt rocker covers. Don't even get me started about the Edelbrock triangle of death. That probably isn't original either; even for the Mecham "Git Kit".
The speedometer has a six digit odometer which I thought only came out in the 1986 and newer models. There is no mention of this in the write up, or none that I saw.

50 minutes left. Buy it.
Car was on Craigslist for a while I think.
Should have sold by now I'd think. Had I not already bought mine is go look at it.

The 6 digit odometer is correct for 82. Our MSE is an all original 82 with a 6 digit odometer. I have the git kit with it unistalled. The correct air cleaner from the git kit is a 14" round chrome one. Similar to this one.

Has Center bolt valve covers....
The air cleaner Kymee shows is what I thought would probably be supplied back in '82. I'm still confused about the A/C compressor. The only possibility I can come up with is that R4 compressors were not as reliable as the older style. And that is just a guess on my part!

I too saw this one on Craigslist. It was on there for at least the past few months.
My 82 MSE also has 6 digit odometer. I have no A/C on mine and my git kit is uninstalled so can't help you there.

Seems like it was well bought. I read rust issues in the article and then what I saw didn't seem that awful - appeared like it was mostly exhaust and small, easily replaced suspension bits.
