86 Camaro Berlinetta??

I have a 86 camaro berlinetta with t-tops. I found out that in 86 berlinettas were haulted and stopped being made..and only 4,479 were ever made. Would anyone know if this number is true and also would anyone know how many in that year came with t-tops?

Yes, Berlinetta production was halted early in one year 86' sounds right but I'm not sure. As for the t-tops, GM kept a record of how many Camaros had t-tops, but it wasn't broken down into specific trim lines. You could guesstimate the number by finding the % of total cars with t-tops and then applying that to the Berlinetta production figure. I have the Camaro White Book, when I find it I'll post the numbers I found. Hope this helps.

Ok if my math is right, about 47% of 86' Camaros had option CC1, which is T-tops. So roughly 2,123 Berlinettas could be expected to have T-tops. However, the number may be a lot higher since the Berlinetta was intended to be a luxury car and was usually heavily optioned. Still thats not a huge number of cars, so it may be worth something someday. Keep it in good shape. Oh yeah, welcome to the boards.

Oh yeah!! That's the info I was looking for. It's not in the greatest shape right now, but I plan on trying to restore it the best i can. I have no plans on getting rid of it. Yeah it does cost me an arm and a leg in gas (due to a edelbrock 795 cfm q-jet)...and everyweek or so I'm replacing something but the important thing is that it is a Camaro lol.

Good, I glad I could help. With that big Q-jet, I guessin' its a V8 , my White Book doesn't list any Berlinettas as being V8s, doesn't mean that it wasn't avalible, just that it was an option too ( I think ). The V8 should be the LG4, 155 hp. A factory computer controlled Q-jet might help with the gas mileage. If you want to restore this car, I would suggest you start rounding up missing parts. Many of the options your car should have a unique to the Berlinetta, like the digital dash, and pod mounted radio. The aluminum wheels are also unique too. Also, go too http://berlinetta.info/, this site is dedicated to your car. Good luck.

Some of the berlinettas came with v6's and some came with v8's (305)..My friend had the car before me and had the 350 put in it. Istill have the pod mounted radio and i have the aluminum wheels also., but i am lacking 3 center wheel caps..those and the dash are my top needs lol..As for the paint job it is the origianl white and has a black with gold trim and moldings along the bottom of the car...Does anyone think when i paint the car..to go back to this same thing..or seek a different paint scheme?

If you are restoring it, then go with the original parts and paintjob. If you plan to modify it, do whatever you want.

Was the car originally a v6 or v8 car? If you want to restore the car, you probably ought to think about re-installing the original engine. Hopefully it was a v8 . Or at least make it look like the original engine. Its a 350 now, so put on 350 TPI exhuast manifolds ( could always port 'em ), a factory intake ( not a bad piece really ), add a factory Q-jet ( again nothing wrong with it ) and a 305 H.O. dual snorkle aircleaner. Put all the smog junk on ( but it doesn't have to be functional ) and coat the engine in nice coat of boring factory black. Do this and you'll fool most everybody into thinking your car is packin' the original engine ( a Camaro guy will likely spot the H.O. aircleaner though ) , just try not to laugh when you stomp 'em.
