You know I would, but $99,995 is a little over my daily ATM withdrawl limit.

Well if we all use that "its only original once" mentality that sagging headliner would be a big deduction in price

So lets start the argument - what is the "fair" market value of this car??

Well $70k USD will buy you a 1 of 11 1991 competition firehawk with 1674 on the clock, so I guess this guy is a little out of line IMO.

Part of the deal is you get a custom license plate with the car.

Re: Wake up guys !!! 1991 Firehawk on Ebay !!

I couldn’t see spending that on one of those.. I’d say the realistic value would be $45k. (i.e. if you needed to sell it in less than 6 months)

A GNX goes for $100k and you can sell it pretty easy.. I don’t think these have the following that a GNX has..

I always wanted a 1995 Firehawk with the ROH wheels.. those were sweet..

Any rare, low mile car can fetch insane prices if you get the right collector with the right bank account, but that’s not realistically what the market will bring..

Just my opinion.. sweet car!

I can only scrape together $99,994.99. Guess it just wasn't meant to be.

Re: Wake up guys !!! 1991 Firehawk on Ebay !!

I've always wanted one of them, even from new. #3, the one that Legendary had is the one to own, aside from that one, any of the comp models, the 1 convertible or the 1 t-top.

I don't put the same value on the base models.

I think he is a bit high on the price. 50-70k is more realistic to me.

I saw that last week. He's on something good to think he's going to get $100,000 for that car. It's not even one of the highly optioned ones

I will be the odd guy out here - I see that as a $50K car MAX - he is orbiting the planet Triton at $100K - pigs will fly and hell will freeze over before we see that sales price on that car in the next few years - you gotta wonder where people come up with these prices, I mean why waste the time typing up the ad?

Re: Wake up guys !!! 1991 Firehawk on Ebay !!

As much as I really appreciate the Firehawk as a whole, I really can't justify the cost. Not when I (or anyone) can build a thirdgen with similar looks and performance for considerably less. True, the Firehawk will always command more collector money, but if I had a car like a Firehawk sitting around, I'd want to drive the stinkin' wheels off of it. What's the point of owning something like that and keeping it hidden away in climate controlled storage under a car cover, or sitting in a museum.

Very cool car. If he was asking half that I would say he is on the high end but not too crazy. 100k is really something. Very Very cool car though. Glad he's asking 100k cause I can just completely ignore it at that price point.

Lets be realistic here. This is muscle car pricing on a pos third gen (it's all right, I love my pos third gen so screw the muscle car snobs) so the crack pipe is strong on this. To the right guy, with cash that flows like Donald Trump, I suppose...

They were overpriced when they were new and if you recall, not popular because of it. Sure there's a guy out there that's gotta have one but it ain't nobody in his right mind gonna ante up that kind of money. It might be worth original sicker.

Re: Wake up guys !!! 1991 Firehawk on Ebay !!

Would never pay that much for that car. As said, they really don't have as big of a following as say the Buick GNX's, or even the early Nissan Skyline's, which some guys would cut off their limbs for. So what happens when you want to resell it. Guys on the Buick boards don't even care for the TTA's anymore either, and hardly any, if any, TTA owners even post on this website. I don't think anyone outside of this website even knows what a TTA is, let alone what an SLP Firehawk is. Definitely to the seller's advantage, as he should revise that ebay description and mention the ultra rare, and highly coveted @ss cheeks headliner...

He's fishing...can you blame him?

Sometimes it's worth throwing up a Hail Mary pass to see what you come down with.

I would rather spend $20-30K building a car with easily obtainable parts, and drive the snot out of it. I spent less than half of that turning my Z28 into a fun/fast car I could enjoy.

If it weren't a Firehawk, what would it be worth? $15k? $20k?
Anyways, adding a premium for the "parts", that's how I came up with $30-$35k, but not 3 xs that. Just don't see it, regardless of the RPO.

I have to admit, I know very little about Firehawks, and my eyes may be deceiving me but, isn't that a manual transmission I'm seeing, yet the SPI indicates auto?

You are correct - all of the 91/2 Firehawks got the ZF 6 Speed from the Corvette line installed and being that they were originally built as 350 L98 cars they were all delivered to SLP with Automatics. SLP would pull the entire drive line and they were available just by calling them - I knew guys who would buy sets of wheels/tires from them for $400 rather than buy new tires for more.

It took years for SLP to sell off the inventory of new (used) parts they took off these cars.

ok, interesting idea about replacing the trans. Why didn't GM think of that with the L98 laziness i guess,

Three reasons come to mind:

1. Emissions certification for an L98 w/ a ZF6 Speed (each configuration must go through the EPA process of certification for sale)
2. ZF6 was introduced way too late in the production run for proper integration and profits from engineering, etc. (see #1)
3. If they used the console from SLP, it looked unfinished and cheap compared to the rest of the car, even on the base Firebird interior. It wasn't until the proposed Anniversary Edition (where two prototypes were made), the console looked finished. That was in 1992. Too late.

I’m surprised after seeing that those cars don’t have a following like a GNX.
