SURVEY: 1988-89 TA with LB9 + M39
How many 1988 or 1989 Trans Ams with the RPO LB9 engine mated to the RPO M39 manual transmission out there?

That's true.
For 1988, the M39, whether paired with the L03 on the Firebird, Formula, or Trans Am, or paired with the LB9 on the Trans Am, was always GU4.
For 1988, the MK6, paired with the LB9 on the Formula, Trans Am, or GTA was always GM3.
The 1988 MD8 on Pontiac's F-Body used neither the GU4 nor the GM3.
