BW M39 T5 speedo gears for 3:73!?!?!

Hey there. I posted this a while back, perhaps in another forum. I have an '88 IROC with a Borg Warner M-39 T5 manual transmission and 3.08 stock gears. I'm upgrading to 3:73s and I can not find new speedo gears.

According to the local dealer, to get my speedometer correct, I need to change both the drive and the driven gear.

Can anyone point me in the right direction? I've tried several websites and even called a place or two. Tons of gears avaliable for the 700R4.., practically none for the T5. HELP!

What drive gear do you have? I found out what drive gear I had and used this calculator to find what driven gear I needed. http://www.tciauto.com/tech_info/speedo_gears.htm

Then I went to the dealer and ordered the closest one.

I don't recall off hand what drive gear I have... but he looked it up for what I have and what I need. To get the proper ratio I need I require a new drive and driven gear, both of which are out of stock and unavaliable to order (discontinued). Therefore I'm SOL at the dealer...

When I called the dealer I was told what I needed was discontinued. When I went in the next day to get the sleeve and O ring, a different guy said he could get it just fine. Might try again and talk to someone else. If that doesn't work you can try TCI. I've been told they have everything, including T-5 speedo gears. I didn't check because I got mine from the dealer. Somewhere else you might try is Whatever It Takes.

so.. TCI only does autos... unfortunatly they were of no help what so ever..

but I found these guys; http://moderndriveline.com/index.htm

and hopefully they'll be able to help. I talked to one guy and he took down all my information and he's going to find out what they have in stock and call me back.

Search for jmd on this site. He'll fix you up with whatever you need (he found me the drive/driven gears for the 3.73's).
