Who made the original headlights used on 1990 Camaros?

I was wondering who the original manufacturer was of the factory installed headlights by GM on the 1990 Camaros.
I just had to replace the passenger side low beam and it appears to be the original to the car. All it says is “halogen” on the front lense and it has part number H4662 in ink on the top.

since the auto parts store didn’t have that number they said the h4656 by Sylvania would be an exact fit. It works but doesn’t allow the trim bezel to go all the way flush like the original bulb did. The connector also won’t seat all the way down on the prongs as the original did. Funny thing is I used an nos 1990’s Sylvania on the drivers side and it fit perfectly?

Is there a source for the original bulbs?

OE was GMs Guide lamp division. NOS AC Delco could be GE, Sylvania or Wagner depending.
Probably don't have it seated all the way in the bucket.

Thank you, that explains why an NOS set in an AC Delco box on eBay has General Electric on the lense, yet the ones on my car say “guide”.

As to the fitment of the replacement Sylvania bulb,I do indeed have it seated correctly. I played with it for several minutes to make sure it was seated correctly, and as I stated I have replaced the other side with a NOS 1990s Sylvania and didn’t encounter this issue,it also doesn’t explain why the connector won’t seat all the way on this bulb.

Took the old factory original bulb out and compared it to the new Chinese made Sylvania and I was right. The connectors are much longer and the guides in the back glass are longer and thicker which explains why the damn thing doesn’t seat flush as the original. Gotta love made In China garbage. Guess I’ll be buying new bulbs on ebay

I had a feeling your problem was "Made in China." Just do what I do, accept the notion that all car parts made in China are garbage. When you leave the parts store with the box, just go ahead and tell yourself that it won't work and won't fit and that you will have to go back and waste an entire day. That way, when you do find one that fits, functions and looks exactly like the part you removed, you actually receive some joy.

Like Drew said, Guide Lamp made the lenses, I think was once Fisher Guide, Then Guide Lamp, Then part of Delco... I am not sure when it changed names.. When I lived in Anderson, I want to think the locals called it Fisher Guide or Guide Lamp, but like everything it might have been a throwback name... It was on Martin Luther King Blvd (Route 9??), just south of Anderson. I used to drive by the factory 25 years ago, it became a field around 2007-2008

I have to look and see if the ones that I have are "guide". I kept them when I put new ones in. They all worked if I remember.
