4cyl Camaros and Firebirds how many were made?

I was just sitting here looking at the viewer rides and I looked up cars for a 4cyl and it only came up with one. How many 4cyl camaros and firebirds were made with 4s? what years?

thanks,
Ryan

Well, from my personal experience, I've NEVER seen a 4cyl F-body. Running, sitting, or in the 'yard. So, they seem rare to me. Now, the 2.8 FI cars....thats another story...lol!!

Enormous numbers were made, unfortunately. They were extremely common. Made from 82 to (I think) 84. I would guess that there were at least 50,000 total of them made.

My first car was an 85 Camaro w/the 2.5. great little engine--couldn't kill that thing! Same engine as the Fiero of that year.
Good thing it wasn't that fast--probably would've killed myself!!
Car had rear defrost, ers radio, auto trans and get this--air conditioning! Never used it tho--when i turned it on it was like riding w/the brakes on! Great little car tho!

Wasnt the engine called the Iron Duke? I think that is what they are called, but I have never seen any around my way.

The Iron Duke was produced from 82 to 86 and dropped with the S/E in 87 because the Firebird was becoming 'second fiddle to the Mustang' performance wise.

86 was the last year for them and supposedly records show that none were ever sold

My bird was an original 4cyl car. The Iron duke was scattered beyond hope when I got it. The #1 piston was wore through the cyl wall and the #4 couldn't been very far from going through also. It had just barely 100,000 miles. I would like to know how many are still running. I would guess very few.
