what will your next 3rd Gen be?
What is the next 3rd gen in your stable? I am assuming its about a car or models history for you. For me I want an 86 TA because that is what I had and I would like one just like it. I had a GTA but it wasnt the same.. I dont care about power so much so it could be a base V8 TA
how about you? is it the one you saw in a showroom in the 80s or your friend's brother had one or maybe a neighbor?
My neighbor had a black with red interior IROC. That is one you dont see too much these days and I would also consider.
what is your favorite from history and what will you buy next?

Re: what will your next 3rd Gen be?
None.
My Formula will never be worth anything(except to me), as will be the case with 95-99% of all 3rdgens, so I stopped worrying about originality a few years ago and have been updating and upgrading this one, taking advantage of it no longer being in CA. It will be a very nice, one-owner "garage find" someday.
The ONLY other 3rdgen I'd consider owning/restoring would be my stolen (in May, 1986) 1983 Z28 HO, if it should ever turn-up. I've actively searched online records in the past, and I tracked a car that could possibly have been it, but its trail disappeared several years ago. Still, whenever a similar 1982-1984 Z28 shows up on here, I check it out for inconsistencies, especially when its owner posts questionable things about it.

I have a few I'd like. From stock to built.
I had an 86 SC v6 in high school. I'd like to build a clone of it with some more power.
I'd like a stock/survivor 88 or 89 Iroc to compliment my built 89 Iroc.
...and I've always loved the mid year Trans Ams. Burgandy or Blue on silver gfx!

Re: what will your next 3rd Gen be?
My first thirdgen was a hard top, teal green 91 Camaro RS in 99. Had it 3 years then switched to an 84 Trans Am, sold the Camaro a few months after. Been a Firebird guy ever since and have had 7, currently still own 3. I really want another Camaro and I would love to have an Iroc-Z, but I think they're way out of my price range now.

I want a nice low mileage 89 GTA hardtop. I would also like a later formula hardtop. I am over my childhood love affair with these t tops. I will probably hold on to the 87 and ls it and beat the snot out of it.

Re: what will your next 3rd Gen be?
I kind of doubt that there will be a next, unless I find myself with a three-car garage. I'll probably keep this one forever. All original, 34,000 miles, everything works (except for poor radio reception for 10-15 minutes after starting).
BUT, never say never. If there is a next time around, I might try to get an '89 GTA pace car. There always seems to be low-mileage examples on eBay and sometimes on craigslist. Not cheap, but some of them do appear to be in showroom condition.

Re: what will your next 3rd Gen be?
I've had the Iroc itch for a while now. I love my GTA and don't plan on getting rid of it but something about a black on tan striped Iroc with the 85-87 rims is just so mean looking. Would have to be 5 speed / ttop though for sure

Re: what will your next 3rd Gen be?
That's just beautiful. I love white Trans Ams or Formulas, even without the 3.8. Leather or cloth interior?
Sorry Bob. I have the tan cloth interior. I don't think I've even seen black cloth with flame red, but that would be a good combination.
Considering that only 1,555 were built, TTAs really aren't that hard to find. There's always some really good ones for sale with very low mileage, although some sellers like that Gateway Classics company ask for too much money. I guess a lot of original buyers bought them with the intent of just keeping them pristine.

Thanks KSR, 30,060 miles, Leather. There's always 2-3 for sale. Private owner pricing is somewhat reasonable.

A low-mileage 1984 Z28 with as many options as possible. All options would be best, including the rear wiper, automatic transmission, and dealer installed Z28 splash guards.

Sport Coupe
Probably going to have to build it but at least someone drew me a render to go by! I just love this look, color, rims, everything, I hope that at some point in my life I have the means and $ to pull this off!
Maybe leave off the hockey stripe and go white on the interior.

Considering I sneaked the third gen into the garage without consulting the CFO, I think I'm out of the "next third gen" game. I'll just live vicariously through you guys.

Unless I come by a windfall from one of the two weekly national drawings, I'm where I will be for a while. But I can always hope....
