I figured since I am having trouble choosing between each one because of the body, it could be in this section.

I love both, but I can only have one, since my second camaro got stolen last week I need your guys help in choosing what I get next

so on with tha show! vote and give an explanation why you chose that car, hey you might make my decision for me!

IROC-Z: 85-90
GTA: 87-92 (was correct)

Are you into stock or modded? I like both IROCs and GTAs both ways, but my favorite would have to be a black 88-90 IROC with a turbo hood. But either way you go it's a win-win situation if you ask me.

I would go for the 91-92 GTA for those choices, If you want a camaro go for a 82-84, IMHO think its the best years of the camaro, except for the 1st gens, Im not much for IROCS though, The nose has to look good, the 87-90 noses look weird on the TA, like they have way too big of a "chin" up front, and btw, I own a big chin 88 GTA, so the TA owners dont get pissy, and the only thing I dont like on the Irocs are the nose and the "IROC" going down the side. If you get a IROC, get an 82-84 nose and front Gfx, they will have to moded a lil to fit though, the gfx at least. just my opinion

how about the specs, what are the differences between the two besides looks? i know GTA trans am have L98 engines so I'll get a 5.7 liter for sure.

give me some pro's and cons on each car

If it were a choice I had to make I would choose GTA. But then again, I am a Firebird nut.

So then you would have to get an 87-90 IROC-Z. The 5.7 started in both cars in 87. The Camaros have better intakes, are lighter than GTA's, have sharper higher G handling, and are rated with slightly more HP and TQ because of that intake. The GTA's are slightly more aerodynamic, have a smoother ride, and have more comforts interiorwise. The Camaro looks and feels like a no-nonsense musclecar and the GTA looks and feels more like a sportscar with 2 extra seats.

GTA is an option package for the Trans Am, I guess it gives you the securness of getting a 5.7 for sure

other then that and the badges I don't really know.

Thats only true to an extent. In 87, GTA WAS an option package, but in 88-92, the GTA was a seperate entity from the base Trans Am all together. 5.7 litres are standard equipment, but the lb9/t5 combo was also available.

only difference between TA and GTA is the TA has some more standard options, doesnt have the fender vents, came in different colors, different rims

But as far as I know you could have everything on a GTA on a T/A as an option, except maybe the delete of the fender vents, it just wouldnt have the GTA badges.

and the TA/GTA do look more aggresive, look at the other one, and mine...maybe its just the hood though.

Nah, the Camaro definetly looks more aggressive. They seem attract more attention also, around here anyway.

I disagree.

Nothing against the Camaros of course. But assuming stock setup, I think the birds look a tad more aggressive.

I would say they both look tough...I think the GTA s look very mean from the front when the lights are down.

But....When the lights are up I would give it to the Z's . Just the way they are angled (on the GTA) makes it look less agressive.

Definitley the GTA. I agree with whoever above said that there are 300,000,000,000,000 Camaro's running around. I will see 5 IROC's for every GTA, if you could get a nice, strong original GTA you'd definitley turn more heads. Besides, the interiors in the Pontiacs are soooo much better than in the Chevy's, its no comparisson. Find a 91-92 GTA, there will hardly be anyone around with the same car.

lol, this is funny. See, this is what I'm talking about. Friendly debate between the two. No "my [thirdgen] beats the snot out of your [thirdgen]!!!" Just polite but firm opinions on preference.

I like them both. I just think a 91-92 bird would take the cake for me. But maybe I'm biased (sig) ;-) Even though my poor baby is sick right now :-( (see tech board)

Yeah...I love my ride too. But the car isn't mine. I've got a red GTA to match it...but no hood as yet (RAII style). This car is my car's clone in about a year.
