But that's the thing. Many of these repaints are done by the lowest bidder and you can tell it's been repainted. It costs a few bucks to do it right, as you did. Most folks don't care to take it that far. But they do want the next guy to pay a premium when it's time to sell.

Then there’s the cars with really nice paint and horrible customization choices.. Those are just too bad..

Re: 18K mile RS 'vert.
Cars, even new ones, are more of an emotional decision than a logical one. Old collector cars from our youth are perhaps the most emotional car purchases of all. One collector's poorly-optioned thirdgen is another's treasure, and this thread is great evidence of that with all the comments on color, RS vs. Z28, etc.
Personally, I never cared for thirdgen Camaro convertibles. The rear decklid reminds me of a fiberglass tonneau cover for pickup trucks, and I never saw the merits of chopping the roof off of a pony car (especially considering how prone to flex cars from this era were). Even when they had lots of performance options, I've always viewed them as cruisers... but if I want an open top cruiser, give me an old Cadillac. When I dreamed of having a thirdgen Camaro, I always wanted the top performing hardtop manual transmission car available and, styling-wise, I preferred the clean looks of the 91-92 RS-bodied cars with the DX3 IROCs being a close second, 91-92 Z28s third.
But to the person seeking a clean 'vert, the RS in the original thread looks like a great option.
