Vin Decode

Can anyone assist in breaking down this Vin?? Both this site and Compnine say its not Valid.

1G2FW87H6FN201758 I have Triple Checked it its correct on the car. I have part of a photocopy of the original Dealer invoice with this number but its mostly unreadable. Id like to be able to know all the RPO for this car.

Thanks

The VIN is valid. Compnine is not saying the VIN is invalid. Just that they don't have records of the VIN in their database. For any 1989 and older ThirdGen that's not an export, that's normal as their records are not complete. Your VIN is a 1985 Trans Am and must not be an export or they would likely have it in their database.

If the above is correct, there is no way to get all the RPO codes associated with the VIN due to its age and lack of records by Pontiac. The best you can do is order a copy of the invoice from PHS. However, it will not contain every single RPO code - only a few of the major items.

For clarification, they're all built in the US (Van Nuys, CA or Norwood, OH) with some getting spec'ed for export. Your car was built in Norwood, OH based on the 11th character in the VIN being an N.

Thanks I know they were all built in the US. I meant that this car was originally a Car destined for the US market Sold to a Dealer in Cornelia GA. Speedo and odometer are in Miles. At some point in this cars life it was imported into Canada
