Incorrect/Optional RPO

I've looked and looked at my 1985 IROC Z RPO's. I have GU6 (3.42 gears), G80 (limited slip), and then YS2 (Perf. Handling), FE2(Handling Pkg.). So, I'm running the LB9 (305 TPI), Everything I've read says G92 for the performance axle, to me it looks like the dealer did and end around on the order sheet on getting the same thing with different RPO's. Secondly, performance handling and handling package? Again, all I see is F41 for performance suspension. Is this another end around or am I missing something?

Thank you in advance for any opinions here!

Re: Incorrect/Optional RPO

F41 is the Sport suspension on the earlier Camaros. FE2 was the suspension used on the IROC-Zs. G92 is for a performance rear axle and is not related to the suspension options. YS2 is not a performance handling RPO. It's related to the deluxe interior. The 3.42 gears were standard on the 1985 IROC-Z with the LB9. If you don't have G92 listed, you don't have the G92 axle requirements.

Re: Incorrect/Optional RPO

Thank you Scott Moyer, why don't these RPO numbers show up correctly in the white book? Is there a better publication I can buy to accurately decode the entire car? I used the "decodethis" website and the Camaro white book for a cross reference. Now that these RPO are wrong I don't trust them for the rest! Why does it seem so difficult to find a simple way to decode a car?

Re: Incorrect/Optional RPO

GM reused RPO codes over the years. If you check, you'll see that there's a Z06 RPO code for the Camaro, and this was years after the original Corvette Z06, and long before the newer version. Also, think about the engine codes. How many versions of the LT1 are there? Not just one!

When checking third gen RPO codes, you'll find a lot of them have a 91 at the end. That's because that was the RPO definition in '91. You really do need to be careful with stripe RPO codes as you might have a red car with silver/black stripes, but a decoder could say you have a red car with orange/green stripes. Like that would even look good!
