Was it 89 or 90?

Was 89 the last year you could get t-tops and the L98 together, or was it 90? I always thought 90, but for some reason i'm thinking it was actually 89. Can someone clear this up for me because I am trying to find my "dream" IROC, and this is actually what the main factor is... Thanks! BTW... i'm sure you don't recognize my name... i'd create a post introducing my self, but there is no lounge here, so i'll just be breif... I sold my IROC, and I REALLY miss it. I usually post at CamaroZ28.com and Stangnet. I think my GT is faster than my IROC ... but I don't like owning a Ford Anyway, I will starting popping up around here more because I REALLY need to get back into the Camaro scene. Later!

This subject has been thoroughly thrashed out recently. You should run a search.

I doubt your 93 GT is faster than the 89 IROC L98 unless it is modded, I know your IROC-Z was stock with minor exceptions.

I did do a search, but nothing came up. I remember there was a huge topic on this at cz28.com a year or so ago, but it has since been deleted. As far as the stang... i've owned them both... I trust my instincts... only the track can tell though.

Do you sit higher in your stang than in your old IROC? If so, that can lead to you feeling like you are going faster.

89 was the last year for the Camaro, no one has ever been able to provide proof of a factory t-top with L89 after '89. Some L89 equipped Pontiacs were built in later years with factory t-tops.

I definetly DON'T want this to turn into a Mustang vs. Camaro thread because that was happening all too often at Stangnet and I get tired of repeating the same f-body info over there. I will defend my car because I know it's potential. I wish I had another IROC, and that was the point of this thread... so I can start to search again (only this time, it is going to stay 100% stock). Once I sell my Mustang, it'll be an SS for sure (100% sure too ) but to answer the question... no, my Mustang has Eibach pro-kit springs whereas my IROC had the stock springs. Anyway, like I said, the track will be opening in the spring, and i'll have slips then, but I don't want to be known as the "@$$hole who likes Mustangs"... there are WAY too many of them around I know the true cars... :hail: IROC-Z

... and as you'll notice... I registered in September of 99, right when I got my IROC, I just never posted here, but i've been around a LONG time The only thing this place needs is a Lounge...

It had one, people abused it, and it won't be coming back.
