Factory CD Player
I don't know much about these as I haven't seen a whole lot out there. Of the ones I've seen, the 90-92 have a black face with black buttons/orangish lettering. I've heard the 89's had available cd as well. I'd like to know what they look like as I have a charcoal/grey faced cd player with black buttons and white lettering. I feel this isn't correct, but it's pretty close. I'd think a picture would be in the 89 sales brochure if anyone has access to one. Thanks for any/all input.
Here's a pic of what I have. Any clue what it came out of? The lower bracket I don't think is 3rd gen camaro.

The pic of what you have looks like it might be correct for a 89 Camaro. The 90-92's had Yellow Lettering on the Radios. The Trans Am ones are a meduim grey with rounded buttons.
There are many GM Applications that use that radio, with subtle changes, one might look correct, but the buttons might light up blue, green or white. The Pontiac ones illuminate in Amber.

I think with those brackets, it may be out of an s10. I'm not sure. I'm pretty sure the brackets unbolt/snap off and I can use the brackets off the tape deck. The main thing that's concerning me is that it was sold to me under the presumption that it was out of a thirdgen. I didn't notice the bracket, which would be a red flag, plus the picture's kinda cruddy, so I thought the face itself was black, but in real life is more of a charcoal/grey.
According to the dealer brochures, 1990 was the first year for the CD player. 1989 had the Bose system as it's top of the line system. Here is a pic from the 90 brochure.

I saw an 89 IROC Conver that was parked next to me at a car show last year, it had the factory CD player. He had the origional (not a reproduction) Window Sticker to back it up, so I am convinced it was origional. The CD Player was first offered on the T/A in 88, so it cant be too off the wall to think it was available in 89 on the IROCS. His display said that 6** IROCs had CD players in 89. That is roughly how many Firebirds had CD players in 89 too!
