1982 Z28 Question
1982 Z28 Question
I ordered my Z28 in November 1981 with four wheel disc brakes, posi, four speed, no air, custom interior, lockable panels in the rear hatch and no "T" tops. I waited six months for the car due to the four wheel disc brake option and posi. My question is how many of these were made with the four speed. four wheel disc brakes and posi. I still have the car and it is in original mint condition.
This is my first post but the second try at it. Not real sure where the first one went? Thanks.

I can't tell you for sure, but that car is rare IMO. No dealer would spec out a car like that, and I doubt to many other people gave up air and t-tops. That was all show no go era after all. Trust me, in a few years they'll be doing magazine articles on your car. You story sounds like the "guy went down to the dealership and ordered Hemi 'Cuda and then kept hidden away" only a decade later.
Forget how manty were made what about now? Sounds like a very rare car and second howmany cars would be around now. How many 82 Z28 do you think are out there in condition like yours??? Not many! Pictures please???

Nice Car!I too have a 1982 Z28,no air, hardtop, base vinyl interior, posi 3.23(was),4 wheel disk(upgraded to 1LE),4 speed T10,manual windows, manual locks and manual mirrors, really no options at all.Car is solid with no rust at all, never been wrecked, but has been redone by me(I hated it in white).I repainted it Viper GTS blue with Cadillac bright white pearl rally stripes.I have a Cervini Ram Air hood(2.5").Otherwise body is stock.I have been quoted by GM parts & service (from 2 dealerships) people as only being one of maybe 1,500,but like someone above said,no way to know for sure. All I can say is there was only around 6,360 Z's made that year with J65 (if I rmemeber correctly from camaro white book),and even less than that with the 4 speed,so I would say it more rare than most '82's but who knows for sure.I love my Z,even though I have upgraded some of it,all in the name of more speed, but it is more unique than most third gens and that is cool enough for me.

I too have an 82 Z28, has air, hardtop, 4 speed, base vinyl interior...Now has rear disc posi 3.23 rear form an 91Z28, LOTS of suspension parts, race seats / harnesses on the way, and a stroker on the engine stand...
ANYWAY, I LOVE the early & first year cars in all the generations...

"I" think the first year cars will be worth more someday, so I save all my stock stuff...
I also have an 82, originally came with every option imaginable at that time. Deluxe interior, t-tops, tilt wheel, the whole ball of wax. I got rid of alot of stuff, like the Air, the cross fire, etc..but I love my 82 (even though it gives me more headaches than fun) and I really think even though there were around 6k made, that was then, you wonder how many are still on the road today out of that 6k.

1982 Z28 Question
Appreciate all the replys on my question. I have to take some digital pictures of the Z28 so I can post them for you to see. I took a lot of regular 35mm pictures for the collectors insurance I have on the car but never took any digital ones for some reason. Maybe it will be sunny this weekend and I can get some pictures of all the toys. Again thanks for all the info.
