89 TA Bra

I just purchased an 89 TA in mint condition and I want to keep it that way. Can any one suggest a good bra to put on the front end to protect it from stone chips etc. Didn't know if one brand was better than another. Thankyou!

I have one from LeBra. I clean it & air dry it all the time, & DO NOT run it in the rain or wash it with it on. Also lay down a coat of wax before it goes on.

The best thing you can do for your car is to NOT use a bra. Around town they might be ok, but NONE of them fit worth half a damn, they all have some slop that lets them flip in the wind which rubs at the paint. Just don't follow behind a sand truck and take care of the paint and you'll be fine. Bra's cause the paint to fade differently, they scrub the paint, they embed material into the paint, etc. Ever notice swirl marks on a car from repeated waxing and polishing? A bra does the same thing only 1000 times worse since its on the car all the time.

Well, like I said, I use my Bra on long trips, & with a few extra minutes of TLC & I have no problems, even with a black car. I have had it for 3 years now, no problems.

My 91 RS convertible has 50,000 miles give or take, its in mint condition, top and bottom, never seen rain, absolutely immaculate... then you notice its got areas where the paint is rubbed thin and rubbed thru from the previous owners bra. I'd rather have a couple rock chips then light gray primer showing thru dark green paint.

Thanks for all the input guys, I'll take it into consideration. I have a 97 gtp now and have had the front end repainted twice because of chips, just trying to prevent it .
