just got this car for $300 ,not sure if it's a formula or firebird with options. I have another 87 firebird and it has different wheels ,and a different spoiler. Can't look up any RPO codes ,console armrest cover missing . I know it looks rough ,but only about $50 worth of parts for it ,and it has V8 with a 5 speed ,and rear disc brakes ! ,and I have body parts for it off a 83 Trans Am .

Everything appears on par to be an 87 formula. The wheels are right, the spoilers right, the hood is right, it doesn't have firebird badges on the fenders. Check for WS6 suspension for the last indicator.

 

it has a performance suspension badge on passenger side of dash below map pocket

 

Everything is in place for it to be a Formula. The performance suspension badge doesn't necessarily indicate WS6, and the items on the car could have been added, but for all of them to be in the same place goes a long way towards authenticating the car as a formula. Cool find, good price, I hope you're putting it back together, but it could be worse in person.

 

yeah I'm putting back together ,I have 2 fenders from a trans am ,plus the nose also from a trans am . and I have a flat hood from a 87 firebird that I put a 79 Z28 ram air hood scoop on it " doesn't look as bad as one would think "plus I have a friend that said he would paint it for me ,only have to buy the paint. Also it's the only 3rd gen I have seen that is silver .I post more pics as I do more work

 

I thought it looked silver, but its hard to tell from the pics, looks white too.

Whats wrong witht he hood thats on it? looks like just a small bend, wouldn't it be relatively easy for a shop to take out the kink?
