The Sport Coupe is the base Camaro. No frills. Most options were available most years. The Berlinetta is the "luxury" upgrade to the Sport Coupe. It had a lot of creature comfort options as standard equipment. It also had an electronic instrument cluster (1984 - 1986) that was not available on other Camaro lines. The LT replaced the Berlinetta in 1987 and was a one year only offering. While the Berlinetta was its own model designated by an "S" in the VIN (fifth digit), the LT was an option package on the base Sport Coupe. The differences between the 1986 Berlinetta and 1987 was that the electronic instrument cluster was dropped and no gold accents. LT stands for "luxury touring".
