help me figure out my Bose option
my cousin (previous owner) told me that when he had professionals install his Subwoofer, that they had to wait awhile to get the bose system figured out, I checked my rpo numbers and nothing came up bose, yet it has the bose speakers stock. I don't have anyones in the kick panel, and after doing a little research it seems like there should be????
my car was ordered from the factory, that would explain most of the "different" options (red leather, red paint, red 16s, t-tops, power everything (except antenna and seat))
please enlighten me
Vic

What is it you're asking? Are you asking if your car should have the bose sound system?
If it had bose, it would have the locking rear storage cover with the speakers mounted in it, it would have different kick panels with speakers, and it would have a bose/delco deck. I would imagine there would also be an rpo code on the SPID to denote the differences to a service tech.
It sounds like your car probably didn't come with the bose system stock. I would also question the accuracy of the red 16" wheels. To the best of my knowledge the red 16's were only used on the Z28's.

thanks for the help, but it has Bose speakers in the 'regular places' (to the sides of the back seat for example) this is stock along with the red 16s, and yes it does have the rpo code for the red 16s, but not the bose speakers (not set up like those in the pics)

If it has "Bose" speakers in the sail panels beside the back seats, but not the ones in the cargo cover and all that, then somebody probably bought "Bose" brand replacement speakers at the stereo store.
And of course, if it doesn't have the RPO code for the Bose option, then it doesn't have the Bose option. Since there's no way to order anything on a car except by way of a RPO (Regular Production Option) code, then it's certain that you don't have the Bose option, only maybe some Bose speakers in your car.
Nothing in your description of your car seems particularly unusual, except for the combo of non-power seat and leather. That's weird.

guys i have the bose system in my car as well. however , i bought it and i think the old owner hacked it up. it has 6x9s in the side panals and 4x6s in the front which are working off a pioneer deck. im guessing he rewired it. im wondering, is their anyway to make use of the kickpanal speakers? rewire them maybe iwht aftermarket ones?" basically im asking can i put aftermakret speakers in the kickpanal and re-wire them to work. not to worried aobut the back 4" ones

From my understanding, it is not worh taking BOSE speakers and trying to convert them over to conventional. All of the speakers I have tested have an Ohm reading of 2 or less, 4 Ohms is standard automobile aftermarket, GM uses 10, 8 and 4 Ohm speakers depending on thier application.
If you hook a 2 or 1 Ohm speaker up to a 4 Ohm amp, you run the risk of blowing the Amp, not to mention the speaker will have a tendancy to distort sooner because of the overload.
I am not saying its impossible, but if you have a Pioneer deck then you do not have Bose anymore, or at least what makes a Bose system BOSE.
What makes a BOSE system works is kind of interesting, there is more to it than the speakers and Amp.
Standard system works with the following: reciever/amplifier/speakers
Bose system has:
reciever/low voltage amp to Amps on speakers
Amps on EACH speaker piggiebacked usually
There are 1 or 2 extra relays that power the speakers.
