Re: Need a good steering column with key

you also need to say if your column needs a reader for the resistor for the VATS.

Re: Need a good steering column with key

Camaro or Firebird?

I have a manual column from a 84 Z28 with only 37K. Very tight with tilt, cruise and delay. Even the writing on the lever looks like new. No steering wheel included.

If you are looking for a cheap column or on a tight budget, this is not the column for you.

Re: Need a good steering column with key

The steering column is for an auto 88 camaro. So there is no vats. Whats the difference in a steering column for a manual and an auto?

Re: Need a good steering column with key

Manuals had a key release on the column. Most of the 80's had a lever that is on the L/H side of the column. Sometime in the late 80's GM deleted that lever and put a button on the ignition cylinder. Manuals did not have a nuetral safety switch but you could use yours and mount it to a manual column, I believe.
