I am looking for a working/good condition heater control unit (the part that controls the blower and ac motors). Needs to be from the older model thirdgen 82-84 years. If available please post pics of all sides, most importantly the back side where the connection points go...since I need to ensure it will work on my 88 gta without major rewiring. Thanks!

All I've found in the early Firebird style is an AC delete heater control. I havn't found a 82-84 Air conditioning / heater control yet.

IIRC all 82-92 AIR CONDITIONING controls are interchangeable. I think they are only different in style and possibly back-lighting color. I have several 85+ AC/Heater controls.

I'm going to be looking up a lot of stuff tomorrow and will re-post if I find the correct 82-84 AC/Heater control that you requested.

 

Thanks John. I appreciate the research. I actually went to a local junkyard that had an older 82-84 model AC/heater control. The thing was completely rusted through, so I couldn't get it. But I DID notice that back connections were definitely different from what I currently have for the 88. So yeah - if you do find anything, I'd be happy to purchase it pending a closeup review of the pics you provide. Thanks again man!

 

So are you still looking for the 82-84 style or do you want the one with the right connections.If you want the 82-84 style i have a couple of them.Also have one from a 87 trans am i think.Pm me and let me know if you still need one.

 

Black - I am still looking for an 82-84 style control. But see my other post. I'm not sure my current car's wiring will allow me use those style controllers (unless you have a suggestion).

Do not know anything about converting them.I have had every year up to 87 but nothing newer.

Thanks Randy. But from what I'm understanding, I won't be able to convert the wiring since I'm coming from a Digital Control box (the one that has push buttons). As you can see in the photos, it's a lot different in the back which means a BIG headache trying to rewire for your style. As much as I would LOVE to buy it from you, I don't think it's possible (UNLESS ANYONE HAS A GOOD SUGGESTION!!). Thanks anyway.
