Seats

Ok, so after my fuel pump died and getting the car towed to my house the driver snaged something to my drivers seat and completly destroyed it . So now I am in the market for a new seat. I am JUST starting to rebuild my car (v6 to v8) and have not even began to search for interior modifications. So any recomendations on choosing a seat?

Either get another seat for a thirdgen to replace the one you lost and order an upholstry kit or have them done in leather. If you like the fourth gen seats now is the time to locate and install.

Just don't go out an get somadem racin seats and put them in the car. They look like the interior version of wavy bondo, everyone knows you tried to fix something and just did a bad job of it.

Well I must say I like the idea of the 4th gen seats, but I would like something a bit more comfortable. I'm not too worried about how much it will cost because AAA is paying for the damages. Can you believe the idiot that broke my seat said "Just spray some WD-40 on it and it will be fine"

So comfortable aftermarket seats is really what I'm looking for. I've been searching some and only found plastic looking racing seats.

Installed the PROCAR SCAT SEATS from Summit on my 89, they're great.

summit seats

Frank89IROC, did you have to fab up a mounting bracket or did they have them for sale. I installed a set of seats from summit with more of a racing style to them, but i would rather have a seat like yours because they seem to be a standard seat but with supports to hold you in than a typical seats. the only bad thing is that i had to use the brackets on my stock seats, build up a plate to mount the bracket to, and now the sit up way to high for my taste.

They sell brackets specially made for the 3rd gen F-Bodies, I think they were about $45.00 each. The seats fit really nice in the car, get compliments all the time.
This is their website: WELLCOME TO PROCAR by SCAT

But buy them from SUMMIT, they're less expensive.

thats the only bad thing, their brackets are for their seats, doubt they will fit my summit ones, does summit make a bracket to fit their seats does anybody know, well that doesnt really help anyway because the seats are universal

I know what you mean, my daily driver is a 2001 Olds Alero, I purchased the SUMMIT "Leather look, without the leather price" seats from summit for it. I drilled them into the original Alero brackets, so now I sit quite higher than I'd like to.
