HURST installed (pics)

I didnt use the optional cover, but made my own out of a plate.

First i want to delete the lever that is used to get it in reverse, it bugs me.
Then i will make some sort of cover that hide the bottom of the stick.

I had to use the old plate from the old shifter and make to brackets on it to get the new shifter higher in place, took me lots of measurements.

The interior is original blue but im converting it to black, i allready painted the inside of the doors black, trying to locate a black floormat.
All the plastic will be painted, and i might get a seatcover-set.

NOTICE the RlCER-STEERING-WHEEL!

well, you have to get used to it, good thing is that you cant put it in neutral by accident if you shift from 2nd to Drive...

Yours looks like it sits up a little higher than mine... sogabe, it's not going to make your car any quicker, maybe a little safer driving. Reverse lock out and it's not as easy to go into neutral on the 2-3 shift.

wtf, auto resize of off site hosted images now? That's crappy.

the reverse lock irritates me.

the shifter comes complete with a new cable and brackets and shlt.

btw: the cable is WAY to long, i had to let it make a loop under my car to get it working!

i bought it just for the looks, and the extra safety for not shifting in neutral by accident is good, but,as i said before, reverse is irritating.

You'll get used to it and it'll become second nature. What I like about the shifter is for some reason, most of my friends don't know how to work the thing

i cant wait to put mine in..
it just takes so much time and money
and my recent tight schedule i have no time!!

ill definately like the look
and sad to know it wont make any difference in automatic shifting point

but oh well i paid 260$ for it.. might as well put it in
since its been sitting in my room for half a year now..

Re: HURST installed (pics)

Any chance of a picture of the brackets you made to raise the shifter into place. I have a 1/4 stick and am trying to figure out whats the best way to get it raised into place.

Thanks

Re: HURST installed (pics)

I just have a few things to say:

1. Good luck getting the reverse lockout taken off, it will render your shifter useless unless you don't plan on using reverse ever again. It's there for a reason, leave it alone. It isn't *that* bad to use. I would also pay to see someone try and steal my car now...

2. The cable is not too long, it is supposed to be that long. If you read the directions, it tells you to loop it so it goes around the back of the trans behind the crossmember, this allows the shifter linkage to work as it should.

3. Before the clip holding the sifter cable falls out like mine did, put some zipties over it in an "X" fashion so it cant move.

4. Looks great! I love my Quarter Stick, wouldn't trade it for anything!

Yeah... that was fun... until my sister had to move it and dented my fender. I have a dual gate 2. Didn't think it was that hard to figure out.
