4th gen seat differences?
Is there any differences in 4th gen seats from an RS compared to a Z28?
And what is the benefit of 4th gen seats compared to 3rd gen seats? i got a chance to get both front seats for $20 and just wondering if i would be gaining any thing
thanks

The 4th gen front and back bottom seats are smaller in width. And I have been told by one of my friends that a thirdgen front cloth seat is way more comfortable than a 4th gen leather seat for long road trips.
Anything to gain? Depends on what you want. If the seats are in better condition, are power seats (if you want that), if you want leather instead of cloth or vice versa. The only thing good about leather seats are their looks.

just wondering if the 4th gen seats are more supportive than the 3rd gens are, as far as getting in and out of the corners. If not then ill save my money and stay with my current seats. they are in perfect condition, but just wanted to know y everyone else seems to change them to 4th gen thats all

To me they were the difference between night and day. They felt better, were more supportive, and IMHO were easier to get in and out of the vehicle. I got 4th gen leather seats so I have no information on the cloth ones.

Mine felt much better to me as well - more support, and since much newer, less sag in the butt area. Also the obvious, better cloth and overall shape since they are newer. And, I got power driver seat - that was a plus.
Sounds like a deal to me, power or not - if they are in great shape. I'd grab 'em, try 'em, and if I wasn't happy, someone else will definitely give you your money back plus on the resale.

any of you with 4th gen seats running a 97-2002 center console? The thirdgen seats really seem to "pinch" the center console, wondering if the 4th gen front seats do the same or its just the console. I'll have to test out some 4th gen cloth seats sometime.
And which seats do you have? Camaro or firebird?

I have the early style 4th gen seats in grey/tan cloth, and I love them. More lateral support, the bolsters are huge and tight compared to the stock 3rd gen seats.
I think it would be perfect if i could recover them in stock 3rd gen repo seat covers. I'm not sure if they'd fit though.
That would be killer though, a 100% original look, but w/ the 4th gen support underneath
just my 2 cents,
Brandon
