removing headrests
I am putting 86 trans am buckets in my 69 c-10. did I mention the column is going in too.
how do these headrests come off. I was thinking of cutting the metal post but I hate to be a hack!

You have to slip in a slim piece of metal to release the headrest.

Maybe. Needs to be an inch of less, IIRC.
Trip a release that holds the head reset in place.
You might do a search. There was a recent thread that showed a homemade device that was supposed to work.

i got it off took a stip of 16 ga ss 1 inch wide 8 inch long had to curve it to go in front of head rest went in aprox 4 inches in and yanked real hard on headrest. yes a slim jim should work. release is in the front

did u find the tread for removal? did u get them off? i need to get mine off 92 rs cant finger it out? solid single bar slides up and down but no release
