Door locks Shaved
So I bought a project car and the previous owner shaved the door locks and painted over it. It looks pretty nice. I was told that he was gonna install a remote unlock or something. But its not done and I dont have any of the parts to do it...so what are my options? Is there a $100 kit or something or what?

Autoloc has shaved door handle kits which is basically what you would be looking at I Guess? those can range from 99$ to 375$ depending on the force of the selonoids you need ( from like 8lbs to 75 lbs).
If you just need something that will unlock the doors they have kits for that too ... which will be cheaper obviously.

Cool thanks for the help guys. Just one more question on understanding how they work. Im assuming I leave the stock actuators on (that lock and unlock the doors) And just hook up a reciver or something, am I right or do i need to convert some other stuff over?

The ones I got from ebay was with the motors I'am sure you can use your's thats already on there and hook it up in the same manner.
My camaro came with manual door locks so I had to use the whole kit.

I shaved the door locks on my Formula, just bought a keyless entry from a local stereo shop for 50$. Installed myself, jst a power wire, a ground, and two wires for lock and unlock that i wired into the wiring on my door lock switch. Easy to do.

I have installed the reciever for my keyless entry, and it works so far. But I can't get the damn wires to lock and unlock the solenoids. All I can get it to do is LOCK, or UNLOCK. One of the two but not both. I have the:
POWER
GROUND
and
2 WIRES (one for lock and one for unlock.
The solenoids have 2 wires... Note: I am using a painless wireing harness and and am making custom door panels that will not have any buttons on them, How do I do this, I can't get it to work!!!!
