Steering Wheel Removal and Installation

Im gonna be removing the old sterring wheel on my 90 rs and installing a Grant steering Wheel. The old one has an air bag and I was just wondering if there was any precautions I can take to prevent the air bag from shooting out at me during removal lol. I also read that you need some speacial tool to remove part of the steering assembly, what tool is this? Im changing the ignition switch too so thats why I ask.

Where do you guys buy your Grant steering wheels from? Im just looking for a place with a good price. Thanks

wheel Removal

Here's a tech article that I wrote for installing a Grant wheel:
Installing a new steering wheel

This article is for a non-airbag thirdgen, but once you get the airbag off, the process is pretty much the same.

Not if he is just changing the Steering Wheel.

The Lock Plate removal tool is necessary to change the Ignition Lock Cylinder, or to tighten the loose Tilt Column issue, but not for changing a Steering Wheel

You need a lock ring tool to remove the lockring, you also need to remove the directional lever and switch, and the hazzard switch button to get at the ignition lock.
