Most likely the prob is the rod that runs down the left side of the column it sometimes fall out of the wight push button Highbeem switch (that is loacted on the left side of column neer the brake just follow rod down and you will find it) If you are not hearing a clicking sound then the switch is not working some times you will have to work the rod to get it back in but there should be a place the rod will sit in. Lets us know if this helps.
PS. welcome to the bord

You can adjsut the high beam switch, if the rod is till in it as suggested above then you may just need to adjust the switch which will slide up or down. if that doesnt work you will have to pick up a new one.

Do you have all the plastic panels removed under the colunm? Now lay your seat back and put your head under the column. Look toward the bracket on the column. There is a bracket that has two 13mm bolts holding the entire column in place. Just beside it on the driver side of the column is a white switch with a rod going into it. Move the turn signal lever forward and back and you should see it move. The metal rod is right there. If the rod moves the plunger on the white switch then you may be able to just adjust the switch.(two 7 or 8mm screws) then slide the switch toward the steering wheel to tighten it. Tighten the screws back up. If this doesnt fix it then you will need a new switch. Its easy to replace, i wouldnt waste money on a shop to do it for you.

I've seen loose tilt columns also cause similar problems with intermittent or incomplete engagement of high beams switch and turn signals. In both cases, tightening the column made everything click and switch like new.

Now was the bad engagement of the switches/signals caused by the loose column or did I fix some other loose/misaligned issue as I put the column back together after tightening, idk. I tore into both columns to fix all the problems, tightened the tilt mechanisms then put everything back in place and found the switch/signal issues resolved.

That was kind of my point, if you have to tighten it you'll have everything out anyway and if tightening it doesn't fix the switch issue you'll be able to resolve it as you put everything back together.

You can rent the steering wheel puller and lockplate remover from autozone or the equivalent. There's a tech article on this site that can walk you through it. Take your time and keep track of the parts as you go. A digital camera can help too as you disassemble.

If you replaced that high beam switch with one from Autozone, plan on replacing it again soon - they last about 2 months (for me anyways). Next time, get one from Napa or Carquest - my Carquest switch has lasted over 2 years now.

Never get electric items from Autozone/Advance - especially ones you don't want to have to replace often (like fuel pumps).
