z28 speedometer?

hey fellas, im new here so i figured id kinda kill to birds with one stone on this thread, introduce myself and ask a question. My name is Thomas im from lexington, kentucky and I have a 1984 camaro with a 350 4 bolt main GM goodwrench crate motor, Ive had it a few years and like a whole lot of other cars on here it's a "work in progress" Now for the question, I came across a brand new z28 140 mph speedometer with a trip meter, and I was wanting to know how "rare" these things are, is it easy to find and buy one? and if you did find one how much would you guys pay

Virtually all Iroc's had them, and they will fit in your car. I have an 83 Z, and I put one in mine( it was out of an 87 IROC) I paied $90 and bought it here on the forums. Hope this helps man!!!

My fellow Kansan is correct: The speedo is a direct swap; however, if you don't have the complete cluster, you may experience a problem with your plastic gauge bezel. The earlier cars had the trip odo **** at the top of the speedo head, later cars at the bottom. The 140's aren't rare. I've paid as little as $50. The trip odo in these cars has either gone south or will go south. Before you swap the speedo in (and I suggest swapping only the speedo head), check this link:

ok, well the one i was going to buy ended up going for about 80 bucks, but if there not rare then its no big deal ill find another one. The one I have now is the kind that shows km and mph, and its only goes up to 85 and both the needles are broke so I have to get a new one sometime soon. And it doesnt have a trip meter on it, so If I buy a speedometer with one on it, ill have to have the piece of plastic that covers the guages to. If you guys know where I could find one id greatlly apreciate it, and thanks for the comments they were very helpfull
