Cleaning glue off trim peices.

I bought my camaro from somebody that had glued fabric on all the interior peices. What can I use to remove the glue and not mess up the plastic interior peices. It seems to be some type of 3m spray adhesive.

Might try some Goo Off. I like the gel. Works on all kinds of stickey messes plus it removes tar, bug splats, you name it. If you use it on your paint, just make sure to clean it and apply wax after.

I will be only using it on plastic trim peices. Where would I find this stuff at. and will it ruin the plastic trim?

You should be able to find Goo Gone in any Lowes or Home Depot or home improvement store in the cleaning product section. Wal Mart may even carry it? I've also seen it in a few auto parts and hardware stores. The most common being the small can that contains a thin liquid. IMO the better Goo Gone product being the gel type.

It shouldnt affect or soften the hard plastic but as mentioned, clean it off as best as you can as it may contain a petroleum distillate. Check the label when you find it.

Probably be better to just buy used pieces instead of spending a lot of time trying to remove the glue and then find out there are still tell tale signs.

What color are the trim pieces?

I have a complete interior set of grey and black pieces out of a '92 RS

WD40

WD40 It's the duck tape iof removing stick stuff. I had all kinds of nasty stuff on my panels. I wish I had a before picture for you, they were disgusting. WD40 is cheap too and won't hurt a thing. spray alot of it on and let it soften up the nasty stuff, then take a toothbrush, tub brush or any soft plastic scrubber and work the glue around. it will form little nasty ***** and fall right off. Took me 3 hours to do the whole interior and the peices look great. Best of all when you are done use some soap and water and the WD40 oil goes right away.

Whatever you use, espacially if a solvent, test on a small area that won't be noticed first. I'm speaking from experience..
