What a score!!!

Let me just tell you guys about the amazing deal i got yesterday! I have been finishing up the interior in my formula, and well i've been stressing over door panels, seatbelts, and a couple of other things. Well I got an email from a local Salvage Yard yestersay that they had brough in a fresh 89 firebird. So i go over knowing i would be out of luck once again...when to my surprise the car has nearly everything i need and its it amazing shape. So i took my lunch and went to stripping it....so here's what i got. 2 gray door panels, 2 arm rest and all plastic for the doors, both front kick panels, both plastic door sills, a full set of gray seatbelts and 2 working hatch shocks for the decklid. So how much did i pay for all of this you ask?......Drum roll please.......$18!!!! I will never in my life find another deal like this again. ANd guys this stuff is immaculate, it could pass for new! But on another note....I want to thank RCAR7395, a member here on the board, because i was just about to purchase the panels from him, before i got this deal. Thanks for all of your help....guys this guy is a great seller, help him and buy some of his stuff! Woo hoo, time to put the formula back together!....Well almost still looking for seats and a headliner!

I'm sorry TA5...you are right, I was talking to both of you...but honestly i couldn't afford them right now. But you both have very nice panels, and i'm sure someone will ****** them right up.

Great job robbing the bone yard... I wish I had that luck. Some guy was going to try and charge me $400 for a 85mph speedometer from an '85 Camaro because "them aint cheap cuz it's for a Camaro" long story short I told him he bumped his head...

But anyhow, I currently have a beautiful Blue '91 RS. It has the light grey custom cloth interior... Does anybody know if with the grey custom cloth door panels, can I separate the grey carpet and add black? I think the light grey interior with black carpet would look sharp, but I don't want to have mismatching carpet everywhere...

Any ideas/ input/ anything is appreciated!!! Thanks!

You don't list your location, but you must live in a rural part of the country. Living in a big city, even going to the surrounding suburbs, most salvage yards here charge almost as much as new cost for used parts.

I found a guy locally on another website that I bought a complete black int. minus the headliner for $120. Included everything from the seats, belts, door pannels, carpet, everything. I was in heaven. Then I went to my junk yard and found a dash pad for $20 in mint condition. Theres some great deals out there, you just have to be in the right place at the right time.
