they was a guy that had done this before, saw the car at a super chevy show a few summers ago. He told me it was a pain in the back to get all the whole cut out to the correct size for the windows and hatch switch. BUt it looks sweet tho

I know yer talkin about the cabs interior pieces (console, panels ect,).But the previous owner of my 90 used some chrome tape, about 6 or 7 inchs wide,on the instrament cluster bezel ,under the clear palstic lens, and to be honest everyone pretty much thinks it looks sharp.Autozone and Advance carry tape like it in diamond tread pattern as well as cabon fiber.(Looks like ,not actual.)
I picked up a couple a cluster bezels and consoul parts to experiment and make templates for cut outs for mods so i don ruin what i have now. Most yards will let ya have the broke stuff almost free.
Wonder what kind of glare ya will get if you do any the back panels with that diamond tred stuff?

I'm not a big fan fan of the diamond plate, it makes me think of rusted out jeeps to much.

Update? I would like to diamond plate my INNER FENDERS. Thought this would be cool. Oh and I was going to paint them black so they dont shine so much...but I dont think you can bend diamond plating in that way. If this doesnt work I am just sheet metaling my inner fenders....I want to do this so it is easier to clean and gives a nice clean look....not that cracked up, gunked up plastic inner fenders that we have. Lol.

EDIT: And for some odd reason you make me want to clean up my interior now. COOL NICE NEW FRESH SMELL.

I've cut and tubbed the back inner fendersin my old 79 cutlass b4 and found it easier to just curve the metal ,like a 55 steel drum cut in 1/2 top to bottom ,and then add/weld at seam a flat piece in a 1/2 circle to close the car side.I imagine the plate would curve the same and since yer not worried or wanting the chrome look and want flat then the potential blueing at the weld won't be a concern.(hmmnnn could look good )

My buddy was thinking of diamond plating the firewall inside the engine compartment. Not sure why he would want to do that given it would be a huge hassle to get all the holes cut and to get it to fit snugly.

the only real problem with the C-ros /birds ,ect.I could see is that when ya tub a wheel well ya cut in the trunk.Ya cut some the inner wheel well out and replace it with the flat and curved section ya just welded. You do this to keep the inner side of the tires from topping out in the wells and rubbing / wearing out the tires. This could cause interior panel mods to be made on the birds, ect.Whereas in the nova it was all hidden in the trunk. So keep it in mind and look at it from all angels b4 ya get too far into it.

Doors actually look pretty good. I'm not sure i like the radio plate. Is that the way it's going to stay or is a radio going in there?

Need a warning on the windows."DO NOT ENTER WITHOUT SUNGLASSES!!" Looks niiicceee.Lil too brite for my taste. But gives me ideas just the same.Have ya checked out advance auto for some tape with that diamond plate pattern??Ya could cover the dash areas around yer gages (if like mine it's under clear plastic).Last time i looked a roll was like 19.00 and it was wide enuff to do my gage bezel on my 90.They also have carbon fiber look as well.

Hey DillonRager, how did you get the diamond plate to stay on the door? Did you use the factory clips or did you screw it in?

hey bro maybe you could hook some of us up with plate your dad could grab it and we could pay you to ship, if its not to much.
two i think flat black on the door interiors would make it great you could still see the detail and it would take away the shine. just some thoughts hit me back

if you got it powder coated it would be awesome, the powder coating will last a long time. if it was anodized it would shine better tho...its always a tradeoff w/ those 2 finishes. IMO i dont think that a camaro should have "glitter" on it like a 57' chevy. unless your going full out, cuz one shiny piece on those cars looks out of place. make everything shiny or chrome, switches, bezel or trim pieces, accent other pieces...go full out.

well cost.

I mean Im sure there are guys that would be willing to pay by the foot if you can cut it. and ship it in what ever sizes we need, i mean go no smaller than 1ft sq. then go from there. Not saying you ahve to cut it to dementions for us but Id pay your cost of 1$ a pound plus shipping if its reasonable.

i had a diamond plate console.. the entire console.. my stock console was cracked everywhere.. covered the instrument panel, and put autometer guages.. and the bezels that hold the door handle, mirror adjuster were replaced as well.. i might have a picture in my vbgarage.. i'll edit later with some pics.. i had to toss the center console to install racing seats.. they rub the trans tunnel and would have gotten shreaded from the edges of the diamond plate..

Diamond plate is great for truck bumpers so you don't slip and fall. Why anybody would ever want it inside their car is totally beyond my comprehension. My personal opinion is that it's the cheesiest interior mod since yellow spray paint

oh well

Well the feed back is great but some of you don't like the dia plateong .It is true that most use it for truck boxs and beds but why would it stop there i see car carriers, boats really any thing. So when i finsh the interior i have a couple of parts to finsh and i think im not the only one who likes the look ! iTS BETTER THEN BEING PLAN JANE WITH JUST SOME WHITE FACE GAUGES.I'n not kick mud in stock interiors but its 2007 and i've seen far more funky interiors.
