Snake head shift knob

Transmission: 700r
Axle/Gears: 3:73
Snake head shift ****

Pulled this out of a 2001 GTP. Has anyone else used this? A test fit shows its about 1/4 inch away from the dash trim when in park. Which is far too close. There isint even enough room to het your hand back there

Since you have an auto, the only important thing is that the cable is connected to the actual shifter. Where you move the shifter unit to makes no difference as long as the cable can reach.

That being said...

Id either slide the whole unit back or put spacers under the front of the shifter where it bolts to the chassis, angling it back some
