What kind of glue to use on Leather?
I've searched but haven't found anything relevant. I Bought some Firebird patches. They are basically your standard iron on patch for jeans, fabric, or whatnot. I bought them with idea of attaching them to my leather seats so It would like a Firebird was stitched into them.
Now I'm faced with the dilemma of how to attach them without actually stitching them. What sort of glue is best to use that will adhere them to leather well, but wont ruin the leather underneath (although I don't plan on ever taking them off)?
Thanks

Maybe 3M super adhesive spray. Maybe permatex(advance auto brand) 5 min epoxy.
Either way, it might ruin the leather underneath. If the epoxy sticks, I doubt you'll ever get it off.

Hah..dont think I want it on the headrests as much as the upper part of the seat a little below the shoulders. Stitching it there would be a PITA.

You're in a tough spot- good glue will ruin the leather, bad glue will peel off. I'm very skeptical there is a somewhat permanent glue that won't damage leather but won't cause the patch to just fall off after a few hot summer days.

there is an adhesive that works but u have to be very careful. U can pick it up @ a hobby shop, its a glue with a sptay accelerant. Its called "zap a gap" pretty much adheres to anything...but if not u can do gorrila glue it works extremely well also!

I have had the problem with glue and leather as well. This may sound a little ridiculous but try a hot glue gun for it. It will stick no problem even on the hottest days, which i found that products like 3M begin to melt and lose their stickiness when it gets really hot. And believe it or not, the Hot glue won't really ruin the leather, becauae when it dries it can just be rubbed off. Just be careful when you do it becuase if you wait too long the glue dries and you will have lumps, but you can always just pull it off and redo it.
